Council Tax: What Reform didn’t put on their leaflets

Reform UK at Durham County Council has suggested changes to its Council Tax Reduction Scheme due to funding issues. These changes are deeply unsettling for people using the scheme, as the new cap means all working-age residents will have to pay a minimum amount towards their council tax, regardless of their financial situation. This is being presented as “cuts” to Council Tax. Take a firm stance against policies that harm those in our constituency with the lowest incomes who may be hit with with bills of £100’s.
